No: two days without a person providing care and checking the cat is not a suitable plan. Extra bowls, an automatic feeder or a camera cannot reliably deal with illness, injury, spilled water or a failed device. Arrange a trustworthy sitter or appropriate boarding before you travel. The frequency and length of visits should reflect your cat's feeding schedule, medication, age and need for interaction. Give the carer clear instructions and make sure they actually see the cat rather than simply refill a bowl and leave.
Test access to your home and provide an emergency contact and veterinary details. A weekend can feel brief to a person, but the cat still needs its normal care throughout it. Keep familiar bedding and routines where possible so the absence does not also involve unnecessary changes to the environment. For holiday care, Cats Protection recommends visits at least twice daily, with more frequent attention where age, health or medication requires it.
