Maine Coon Cat Tree 216cm | XL Cat Tower – Ultimate PawHouse

Can vertical cat furniture save floor space?

Compare the usable levels gained with a tower’s full footprint, overhangs and landing routes when furnishing a small room.

Vertical furniture can save some floor space by adding usable resting or climbing areas above an existing footprint. However, its base, overhangs, landing zones and installation requirements still need room. A tall tower with a small base is not automatically suitable for a heavy cat, and wall-mounted furniture needs appropriate structural support. Measure the complete assembled dimensions rather than only the base panel shown in a listing.

Also think about access: a high shelf is not useful if the cat must make an awkward leap or cross a cluttered worktop to reach it. In a small room, leave enough floor space for normal movement, play and cleaning. Vertical space works best as part of a balanced layout, not as a reason to remove all low-level resting options. Compare the space you gain with the practical route needed to use it comfortably every day.

The Taj-MeowHall illustrates why base size is not the whole calculation: its listed base is 68 × 45 cm, while the full footprint is 112 × 60 cm. Use the larger assembled outline when planning the room.
