A suitable tree combines enough usable room with a structure designed for the loads it will experience. The cat should be able to settle on a platform without being forced into an awkward position, and move between levels without squeezing through narrow gaps. Look at cave openings, the space inside enclosed sections and the position of supporting posts. These can make two similarly sized towers feel quite different.
Ask whether the published capacity applies to individual components or the complete tree. Check the supplied assembly and anchoring guidance before buying. Suitability also depends on your cat’s confidence and mobility: an adventurous youngster and a cautious adult may prefer different layouts. A breed label is a starting point for browsing, but clear measurements and installation requirements should determine the final choice.
Trace one complete journey on the product diagram: floor to resting place, turning to settle, then returning to the floor. A spacious bed is less useful if the final approach is obstructed by a post or another basket.
