Clean appearance does not show whether the bed remains structurally sound, correctly shaped or suitable for the cat. Inspect seams, zips, filling, frame connections and any non-slip base. A cushion that has shifted into lumps, a cover that exposes filling or a frame with damaged joints may need repair or replacement according to the manufacturer's guidance. Also reassess fit and access as the cat grows or its routine changes. You may be able to replace a compatible cover or cushion instead of discarding the whole bed, but verify the exact part first. Do not keep using a damaged item simply because the fabric is freshly washed. Conversely, an intact bed does not need replacing purely to follow a new style. Base the decision on condition, usability and maintainability, with safe alternatives available while a problem is resolved.
Compare the cushion with an earlier photograph if you are unsure whether it has changed shape. Flattening or shifted filling may be easier to spot against its original form than from memory alone.
