Maine Coon Cat Tree 211cm | XL Cat Tower – Cat-Cave

Where should I add a second resting place for my cat?

Choose a second cat resting spot that provides a different view, temperature, level or quiet location with easy independent access.

Add a second resting spot where it gives your cat a different useful choice, such as a quieter part of the room, an accessible lower position or another view. Start by noticing where the cat already pauses when its usual bed is occupied, too warm or too busy. That location can reveal more than choosing an empty space solely because furniture will fit there. Check the bed's usable size and leave a clear approach; a gap under a table may be sheltered but unsuitable if chairs constantly move through it.

For multiple cats, independent access matters, so avoid placing both resting spots along the same narrow route. A second spot does not have to be another large tree. A suitable bed or supported perch may meet the need. Give the new arrangement time, then assess whether it offers genuine choice rather than duplicating an already unpopular location.

Compare the proposed spot with the first bed in three ways: noise, access and exposure. A second bed that changes at least one useful condition gives the cat a clearer choice than an identical bed immediately beside the first.
