About Giant Paws
Why Giant Paws Exists
I own a Maine Coon called Leo. He's 6 years old now, and almost from the day I brought him home, I ran into the same problem again and again: nothing sold as "large cat" furniture was actually built for a cat his size. Cat towers with platforms he couldn't turn around on. Beds he draped over the edges of, paws hanging in mid-air. A "heavy-duty" scratching post that made me genuinely nervous every time he jumped on it, because the weight rating clearly wasn't built with a cat like Leo in mind.
Maine Coons are the largest domestic cat breed — often two to three times the size of an average cat — but most furniture labelled "for large cats" is really just a slightly bigger version of something designed for a much smaller animal. That gap between "large" on the label and large in real life is the entire reason Giant Paws exists.
Built Around the Cat, Not the Category
Every product we sell is chosen against genuine large-breed dimensions — height, platform size, weight capacity — checked against what a real Maine Coon, Ragdoll, or Norwegian Forest Cat actually needs, not what looks big enough in a product photo. If it wouldn't hold up for a cat like Leo, it doesn't go on the site. That's the whole standard.
A Bit About Us
We're a small, UK-based team, and Leo remains our most honest quality tester — if he doesn't approve, we don't stock it. You'll also spot Simba around the site and our socials, our resident mascot with a bit more personality than the average cat model.
We're still a young business, but we've already built up a genuine 4.7★ average across our early reviews, from real customers furnishing homes for their own oversized, much-loved cats.
