Spare components are available for some designs, but availability should be checked for the exact model and version you are buying. Ask whether the retailer supplies individual cushions, scratching posts, fixings and other wear parts, and whether these are normal stocked items or special orders.
Similar-looking components may use different thread sizes, lengths or attachment methods, so do not assume they are interchangeable. Keep the order details and assembly diagram to help identify the correct part later. If long-term repairability matters to you, include it in the initial comparison rather than relying on a general claim that the furniture is replaceable. Availability can change, and a future replacement cannot be guaranteed unless the seller makes that commitment. A clear answer today is still useful when choosing between otherwise similar trees.
For a replacement post, record its complete length, diameter and connection details from the original manual. Two posts with the same external length can still use different fittings, so matching a photograph is insufficient.
