Start with your cat’s favourite resting places
Does your cat curl up in a sheltered spot or stretch out where they can watch the room? Enclosed condos offer a different layout from open perches. Compare the usable space inside a condo and its entrance, or the surface of a perch, with your cat’s usual resting position.
If you share your home with several cats, look for separate resting choices and access routes. The Taj-MeowHall has two condos and several resting areas to explore. Keep other resting places available around the home as well; several platforms do not by themselves establish capacity or guarantee that cats will share.
Match the layout to your room
Think about where the tower will stand and how you will move around it. The Cat-Cave lists a 110 × 75cm footprint, while the Taj-MeowHall lists 112 × 60cm. Allow for projecting parts, access and the clearance specified for assembly and use.
The Highland Retreat’s listed width is 208.8cm, so plan for its full activity-centre layout and exercise wheel. Request the complete depth and working clearance if you need them to decide whether it fits.
For the Sovereign Spire, measure the ceiling height at the installation point and check that the supporting surfaces suit the supplied mounting instructions. Its listed base is 40 × 40cm, but projecting platforms and access need additional room.
Check capacity and installation for the chosen model
Read the model’s instructions and distinguish individual platform limits from a total structure rating. Confirm any limit for the particular resting surface your cat will use, especially when several cats may use the tower together. Follow the assembly, mounting and maintenance requirements.
There is no single minimum tower height, platform size or base footprint that establishes suitability for every Maine Coon. Compare your individual cat’s measurements, movement and preferences with the complete product details.
