Only machine-wash the complete bed when the care label specifically permits it and the item fits the machine's capacity and instructions. A removable cover does not mean the foam, frame or entire bolster assembly can be washed the same way. Check the required cycle, temperature and drying method before starting. Do not compress an oversized bed into the drum simply because the door can close; the machine needs to handle the load appropriately, including when the filling becomes wet. If only certain parts are washable, remove them as instructed and clean the remaining structure separately. Make sure the filling is completely dry before the cat uses the bed again. For households without suitable washing facilities, a bed with a manageable removable cover and replaceable insert may be more practical than one advertised as fully washable but difficult to clean at its full size.
Check the washing machine manual as well as the bed label. A bed's washing symbol identifies permitted treatment, but it does not confirm that your particular drum can accommodate the bulky item properly.
