The floor beside a sofa can be an appealing place for a cat who likes company. It can also be where slippers, charging cables and dropped cushions accumulate. A dedicated bed needs enough of that space to remain usable throughout the evening, rather than only when the room is tidied.

Check where feet and furniture actually go

Keep the entry clear of throws and other soft furnishings. Extra layers can alter access and sleeping room, so resist adding cushions simply to match the sofa. Begin with the product as supplied and follow its instructions.
The ribbed plush finish offers a different surface from the surrounding floor. Let your cat investigate it in their own time while retaining other familiar resting options.
Preserve the spot during daily tidying
Return the bed to the same clear position after cleaning. Its non-slip base still needs a clean, dry surface, and you should check that it remains secure when the cat gets in or out.
Ask everyone using the room to keep bags and feet out of that small area. A sofa-side bed works best when it stays a reliable resting option, not an overflow space for whatever has been moved from the seat.
