Floor-to-Ceiling Cat Tree 230–250cm – Modern Vine

Can I put a compact cat tree behind a sofa?

Check cat-tree access, sofa movement, cleaning space and reachable fixings before using the gap behind a sofa.

A compact tree can work behind a sofa if the position leaves clear access, sufficient space and the required support. Check whether the sofa blocks the lowest platform, prevents cleaning or hides fixings that need inspection.

Also consider how the cat would move between the sofa and the tree; an unintended jump onto a narrow edge may be less practical than the product's designed route. Measure with the sofa in its normal position, including reclining or movable sections. Do not place the tree where furniture movement can strike or squeeze it. The location should still provide a resting area your cat is likely to choose, rather than a hidden gap selected solely to keep the tree out of sight. If you cannot reach the base and connections without shifting heavy furniture, another position may be easier to maintain.

Allow for what happens when someone sits down or reclines: cushions, backrests and mechanisms may move beyond the sofa's empty outline. A space measured only with the sofa unused can therefore overstate the available clearance.
