Keep a second familiar resting option available before the main bed needs cleaning. It does not have to be identical, but it should be appropriately sized, clean and placed somewhere your cat already finds comfortable. Rotate washable blankets or covers where the product allows so you are not removing every familiar resting surface at once. Store clean spare components in a dry place and check them before use for damage or loose fasteners. Avoid putting a damp cushion back early because the cat appears to prefer the usual bed. If drying takes a long time, a second compatible cover or insert may simplify the routine, provided the manufacturer confirms the fit. Planning the spare option is especially useful with large bedding that cannot be washed and dried quickly. It makes maintenance easier without expecting the cat to settle immediately in an unfamiliar location.
Choose where the spare will sit in advance and let your cat encounter it during normal days. A clean replacement already familiar in the room is easier to offer than an unfamiliar bed brought out only during disruption.
