Floor-to-Ceiling Cat Tree 230–250cm – Modern Vine

How do I position cat furniture without blocking doors or windows?

Check full door swings, window openings, upper platforms and curtain movement before choosing a cat-tree or wall-shelf position.

Measure the full movement of doors, window panels, handles and curtains before choosing the furniture position. Include upper platforms and beds, which can obstruct an opening even when the base appears well clear.

Check access for ventilation, cleaning and any required escape route. A cat tree should not turn a normally accessible window into an unsafe climbing opportunity, so assess window security separately. Keep cords and loose curtain attachments away from the route. Mark the furniture's outline with temporary measurements or a sketch, then operate everything around it as you normally would. Do not rely on a door stop as the only protection against a door striking the tree. If the arrangement restricts essential access, choose a different size or location rather than accepting a daily inconvenience that could also affect the cat's safety.

Open the door fully while someone holds a measuring tape at the proposed highest platform width. This checks an obstruction that a floor outline can miss. Keep the test clear of people and pets and avoid balancing objects at height.
