Maine Coon Cat Tree 185cm | Large Cat Tower – Taj-MeowHall

How can I avoid overcrowding a small room with cat furniture?

Choose cat furniture by function and full footprint so beds, scratching areas and play spaces do not obstruct everyday movement.

Avoid overcrowding a small room by giving each item a clear purpose and removing choices that duplicate a function without being used. Begin with the cat's essential access routes and the household's walkways, then fit furniture around them. Measure the whole assembled product, including beds that project beyond the base. A tower squeezed between a sofa and cabinet may fit on paper while leaving too little room for the cat to turn or descend.

Prefer a few suitably sized resting and scratching options over many undersized ones. Store unused toys away and bring out safe activities at appropriate times instead of covering the floor permanently. Leave room for cleaning and for doors or drawers to open normally. Reassess after observing the cat for several days: useful space is the space it can comfortably occupy and move through, not the number of products the room contains.

Remove one low-value object before adding another. A compact room may benefit more from replacing an unused undersized bed than fitting a second bed into the remaining gap and narrowing the cat’s approach to both.
