Maine Coon Cat Tree 211cm | XL Cat Tower – Cat-Cave

Should I buy cat furniture with room for a kitten to grow?

Balance adult-sized sleeping space with access a kitten can use now, rather than assuming larger furniture is automatically more suitable.

Furniture with room to grow can offer good value, provided it is suitable for the kitten's present abilities as well as its likely adult size. A larger sleeping surface or durable scratching area may remain useful for longer. However, increased height, wider platform gaps or an automated mechanism do not become appropriate simply because the kitten will eventually be bigger. Check the route through a tree and provide comfortable lower-level options from the start.

Follow product restrictions and do not improvise changes that conflict with the assembly instructions. Also remember that adult size varies, so no purchase can guarantee a perfect lifelong fit from a breed label alone. Measure again as your cat develops and watch how it uses entrances, beds and platforms. A flexible setup with replaceable or separate components may be more practical than one expensive item chosen entirely around an estimate of future growth.

A broad low bed can allow growth without adding a difficult jump. A tall tower with widely spaced levels creates a different trade-off, so assess sleeping dimensions and the climbing route separately when considering a longer-term purchase.
