If you notice a new coloured mark beneath a cat bed or on nearby fabric, pause use of that arrangement and identify the affected surfaces before treating the mark. Do not assume the bed is the source, and do not start with a strong stain remover to test that theory.
Record what changed
Photograph the bed, the marked surface and their previous contact position. Note when you first saw the mark, whether there had been a spill or recent cleaning, and whether the bed or floor was damp. Include any cleaner or laundry product used, without guessing a chemical cause.
A mark may coincide with moving furniture or changing the room's textiles. Keep your description factual: “a blue mark where this edge was resting” is more useful than a diagnosis based on colour alone.
Check both sets of care instructions
The bed and the floor, rug or upholstery each have their own requirements. Identify the surface finish from its documentation where possible rather than assuming every wood-look floor is the same material. Ask its supplier for a permitted treatment before applying solvent, bleach, heat or an abrasive tool.
For the Velvet Nest, the current listing specifies a removable machine-washable cover and says to follow the selected item's care label. That does not establish the appropriate method for a mark on your flooring or sofa.
Keep the investigation separate from the cat's resting space
Provide a familiar alternative resting place while the affected items are being assessed. Keep the cat away from any cleaning work. Do not conceal a mark with a new mat and immediately restore the same arrangement before understanding the care advice.
A clear protective sheet or added underlay is not automatically compatible with the bed and floor. Check that proposed change with the relevant care guidance rather than introducing another untested contact surface.
