Highland Lounge Bundle: Keep Floor Beds off the Play Route

The Highland Retreat & Lounge Bundle — Cat Tower, Bed & Mat

A large activity centre and two floor-level resting pieces give you several ways to furnish a room. The Highland Retreat & Lounge Bundle includes the Highland Retreat, Velvet Nest and AeroMat Chill Pad. The useful layout question is how those pieces relate, especially where a cat approaches the tower, uses its ramp or moves near the wheel.

Start with the activity area

The Highland Retreat has a listed height of 196.9cm and width of 208.8cm, with an exercise wheel, treehouse penthouse, tiered platforms and scratching ramp. Confirm the full assembled dimensions and installation requirements before deciding where the floor bedding can go. The listed width is not a complete clearance plan.

Mark the structure’s position and the routes around its features. Follow the supplied guidance for moving parts and anchoring. Leave the surrounding space needed for intended use rather than treating every visible gap as spare storage. A plush bed positioned beside an access point can become an obstruction even when it looks neatly tucked away.

Choose rest without making it a landing zone

Place the Velvet Nest where it offers a usable resting position away from the activity route. Its raised sides create a defined bed shape, so check the chosen option’s interior space as well as its exterior footprint. Keep its approach accessible without placing it beneath a route another cat regularly uses.

Give the AeroMat its own suitable position. It is a quilted mat with waterproof backing, not a verified crash mat or a substitute for correct tower installation. Do not position it as protection for an unsuitable jump or assume that adding soft material makes a poorly planned route acceptable for a large cat.

Review the room with all three pieces present

After assembly and positioning, walk through the ordinary household routine. Check that doors open, you can reach the wheel area as directed and neither floor item needs constant moving to access the furniture. Then observe voluntary use without trying to guide the cat into a particular sequence.

The tower’s listed total load applies across its platforms and does not describe the bed or mat. Check each product separately and ask about the particular platform for a cat over 10kg. A well-planned bundle leaves room for activity and rest to happen independently, instead of squeezing every function into one tightly packed corner.
