A large cat tower needs its own line on the moving checklist. You need to know how it comes apart, how the components will travel and which familiar items your cat will still have available. Plan those details before the removal boxes reach the room.
Check whether dismantling is intended
Find the original assembly instructions and ask the seller if repeat assembly is supported. Do not force glued or fixed joints apart. Photograph the furniture from several angles before starting, including the underside of accessible connections. Measure the largest section that will remain assembled and compare it with both properties' access routes.
Keep parts with their instructions
Label components by their position in the instructions, not simply top and bottom. Bag fasteners separately and keep them inaccessible to pets. Use the specified packing method where available; avoid tape directly on a finished or upholstered surface. Record any existing wear so you can distinguish it from damage after the move.
Leave familiar essentials accessible
Cats Protection's moving guidance recommends taking familiar bedding to the new home. Keep a suitable bed and scratching option out of the removal load until they are needed. A favourite floor bed may be easier to move with the cat's essentials than a large tower. This is a packing consideration, not a substitute for planning your cat's secure travel and quiet arrival room.
Reassemble before opening access
At the new home, inspect components and follow the instructions in the new position. Check required restraints and the suitability of the floor or ceiling again; the old installation does not establish the new one. Keep the cat away from unfinished assembly. If a fixing is missing or a part is damaged, seek the correct replacement before use.
Use the move to review fit
A different room may change the furniture you need. Compare the ready-to-order tower range only after measuring the new space. If you are considering bespoke furniture, include both access and future portability in the brief. Do not commission around an unconfirmed floor plan.
