For a repeatable portion, weigh dry cat food in grams. A cup or scoop can be convenient, but the amount changes with its size, how full it is and how the pieces settle.
Build a two-minute routine
- Place the empty bowl or container on kitchen scales and zero them.
- Add food until the planned gram amount is reached.
- Record food used in puzzles or as rewards from the same daily allowance.
- Clean the weighing container according to its instructions.
If several people feed the cat, write the daily amount and mark meals as they are served. That prevents a precise scale reading from being undermined by duplicate meals.
Do not invent the gram target
