Before placing a cat tree near window blinds, check what your cat could reach from every platform. A cord positioned high above the floor can become accessible from a perch. Keep loose cords and loops out of reach using the blind manufacturer's approved arrangements, and choose another tower position if you cannot do that reliably.
Check the window in each normal setting
Review the blind fully raised, lowered and at the positions used during the day. Include the operating cord or chain, any retaining device, curtain tiebacks and cords on nearby lights. Do this before allowing the cat onto a newly positioned tower. A tidy-looking window is not enough if a loop becomes exposed whenever someone adjusts the blind.
Do not tie a blind cord to a cat tree or wrap it around a scratching post. Keep the two installations separate. If a cord-management fitting is missing or its instructions are unclear, ask the blind supplier for the correct solution rather than improvising one around the cat furniture.
Look sideways as well as upwards
A tower creates access to neighbouring furniture, not just its own top perch. Include a nearby windowsill, shelf, chair back or cabinet in the review. Avoid choosing a distance by guessing your cat's maximum reach; if an accessible route leads to the cord, resolve the cord arrangement or move the tower.
The Cream Estate has resting places at different heights, two enclosed condos and ramps within its structure. Check the position of all of those features against the actual window. The product's overall height does not tell you which level will sit beside an operating cord.
Keep the window usable without moving the tower
Confirm that an adult can operate and clean the window while preserving the tower's required installation and clearances. Check handles and inward-opening sections, and do not let the new climbing route provide access to an unsecured opening. Follow the window and any protective-screen instructions; a cat tower is not a window barrier.
Write down three checks for the proposed position: cords remain inaccessible in every setting; the window can be operated as intended; and the tower can be installed exactly as instructed. If any answer depends on remembering never to open the blind or shifting the tower each time, reconsider the location.
Review the arrangement when the room changes
New curtains, a replacement blind or a moved cabinet can create a route that did not exist before. Check again after those changes and keep loose decorative ties away from the platforms. Do not attach extra hanging decorations to make the tower match the window dressing.
