Ask for the exact cat tree instructions before ordering when mounting surfaces, required tools, assembly help or the working space could change whether the product suits your home. A product page helps you compare features, but it may not contain the complete installation sequence or every condition attached to it.
Request the document for the precise model and option you plan to buy. A manual for a similar-looking tower is not a substitute, particularly for a floor-to-ceiling or restrained design.
Start with the exact document identity
Ask for the product name, model code and the revision or date of the instructions where one is shown. Confirm that the document covers the colour, height range, accessories and configuration you are ordering. If an online video is supplied too, establish whether it supports the written instructions or applies to a different version.
Save the document with the order details. If the instructions later change, you can ask which version applies rather than trying to remember a diagram seen before purchase.
Check the installation surfaces before features
The Feline Sovereign Spire is currently listed with a 240–280cm adjustable height and a pressure-and-friction floor-to-ceiling fitting. The Modern Vine is listed with a 230–250cm range and the same broad fitting principle. Those descriptions do not prove that every floor or ceiling finish is suitable.
Ask what the top and bottom fittings must contact, how the intended point should be measured and which conditions make a surface unsuitable. Check any requirements for walls, floors, ceilings or restraints as a connected installation system. Do not infer compatibility from the words “no drilling”, and do not add an improvised pad, spacer or fixing.
Identify the tools and assistance required
Ask which tools are included, which you must provide and whether the instructions specify more than one person for any step. A small supplied hex key does not prove that no other equipment is needed. Equally, a tower's listed height does not reveal the room needed to lay out, raise or adjust its sections.

Read beyond the final assembly picture
Look for instructions about:
- the order in which posts, platforms and resting areas are connected;
- how similar-looking components are identified;
- the point at which the structure is moved into its final position;
- any required restraint, tension or adjustment sequence;
- checks required before a cat can use the completed tower;
- ongoing inspections, adjustments and approved replacement parts.
Do not calculate your own tightening method from the illustration. If the document specifies a sequence, torque or recheck interval, follow that exact guidance. If it does not answer a material question, ask the supplier rather than filling the gap with instructions from another brand.
Compare the manual with your room plan
Mark the final footprint, projecting platforms and assembly area on your room sketch. Include doors, cupboards, curtains, lights, sockets and the route people use. A tower can fit when complete but still be awkward to assemble in that position. Do not plan to build it elsewhere and carry it through a doorway unless the instructions confirm that this is an appropriate method.
