When time is limited, prioritise seating, walking routes and the areas guests will use. The timings below are an example to adapt, not a promise that an hour will clean every home.
First 10 minutes: clear and assess
Put away loose objects, address any pet mess and decide which surfaces need attention. Use suitable products and keep your cat away from wet cleaning areas. Do not block access to essential resources while tidying.
Next 20 minutes: seating and textiles
Use a compatible vacuum attachment or fabric-care tool on seating. Our reusable roller is an option for suitable dry fabric after testing a hidden patch. Work gently rather than forcing it into every corner.
Swap soiled throws for clean ones where useful and set the used ones aside for proper washing. Turning a cushion over does not remove its dirt or allergens. Follow the sofa guide for surface checks.
Next 20 minutes: floors and shared areas
Clean the main walking routes with tools appropriate for the flooring. Give the bathroom and visible surfaces attention as needed. Leave enough time for any permitted wet-cleaned area to dry.
Final 10 minutes: put tools away and prepare for visitors
Check clothing, remove trip hazards and secure cleaning products. Let your cat choose whether to approach guests or use a quiet retreat. Do not force a last-minute grooming session or bring a hiding cat out for visitors.
