When to Take Final Cat Furniture Measurements During a Renovation

Wall Collection tree-inspired bespoke reference with staggered platforms and a sheltered upper resting area.

An early room measurement is useful for planning, but a room under renovation may still change. Flooring build-up, new skirting and replaced fittings can alter the space available for cat furniture. Keep the planning sketch clearly separate from the dimensions used for an order.

Measure from the finished surfaces

If flooring or ceiling work is incomplete, label the current measurements as provisional. Do not subtract an assumed flooring thickness unless the actual finished level is confirmed by the people carrying out the work. Measure the intended position again once the relevant surfaces are complete.

Recheck the details that project into the space

New skirting, radiators, door handles, blinds and pendant lights can change usable clearance. Record their positions as well as the room's overall width and height. For an adjustable tower such as The Modern Vine, check the finished ceiling height against the current product range and installation requirements.

Keep one dated measurement record

Put the date, units and room position on the final sketch. Mark earlier sketches as superseded so that an old measurement is not accidentally used. If someone else measured the room, agree which drawing is the final reference before sending it with an enquiry.

Tell Giant Paws what could still change

For bespoke furniture, flag any outstanding building work and ask when confirmed dimensions are needed. Do not assume an approved design can be altered later without affecting the agreed scope, price or schedule. A short final check is easier than redesigning around an overlooked floor level.

Save a dated set of finished-room measurements before choosing an existing product or confirming a tailored brief. Share any remaining uncertainty with Giant Paws so it can be addressed explicitly.
