The current Paw-villian description confirms a corrugated scratching surface on the base, but it does not say that this surface is removable or that a replacement insert is sold. Ask Giant Paws about the exact construction before lifting, cutting or ordering a near-sized scratcher.
Identify the surface you own
Keep the order details for The Paw-villian and photograph the whole base. The listed overall product dimensions are 78 × 29 × 23cm; those are not the dimensions of the corrugated section. Do not subtract the frame visually to invent an insert size.
Ask whether replacement is intended
A useful enquiry should confirm whether the scratching surface is a removable component, how it is retained, and whether an exact replacement is available for the model. If it is replaceable, request the replacement reference and supplied method rather than matching only length and width.
Also ask whether the replacement includes any backing or fixing parts. A corrugated panel of similar appearance may differ in thickness or edge shape and may not sit in the frame as intended.
Do not adapt the wooden frame
Avoid prising out a fixed surface, sanding the opening, adding glue or packing a loose panel with paper. Those changes can damage the furniture or create an arrangement not covered by the product instructions. Keep the board out of use if the surface is loose, sharp or no longer secure.
Record wear accurately
Photograph the scratching area from above and at the edge, showing whether the concern is normal surface wear, lifting, damage to the frame or a loose attachment. Clear photographs help Giant Paws distinguish a replacement question from a safety or damage enquiry.
Plan another scratching option while you check
If the surface is unavailable, give the cat another suitable horizontal scratcher rather than encouraging use of a damaged base. Our horizontal scratcher guide explains how to compare posture and placement. A separate scratcher does not confirm that an unapproved insert can be fitted to the Paw-villian.
